Kendal at Lexington to Require COVID-19 Vaccinations for Staff and Volunteers
(August 6, 2021) – Kendal at Lexington announced COVID-19 vaccination requirements for all current staff members. Current employees must receive full vaccination against the virus by October 15, 2021. New employees will be required to show proof of, at least, first-dose vaccination beginning August 9.
Kendal at Lexington has and continues to advocate for the vaccine, which is proven by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to be safe and effective against symptomatic infections, hospitalizations and death.
“We are dedicated to the health and safety of our residents and staff in the Kendal at Lexington community,” said Jan Bigelow, Executive Director and CEO of Kendal at Lexington. “Moreover, we know widespread vaccination against COVID-19, both here and beyond, is necessary to preserve life and move forward from this pandemic.”
The majority of the staff and residents at the community already have been vaccinated. Some religious and health exemptions may apply, and any staff member exempt from this policy will be required to wear increased PPE and undergo more frequent testing for the virus. In addition, all staff, regardless of vaccination status, will continue wearing masks on campus.
