Kendal at Lexington Requires COVID-19 Vaccinations for Staff and Volunteers

Kendal at Lexington has and continues to advocate for the vaccine, which is proven by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to be safe and effective against symptomatic infections, hospitalizations and death.

“We are dedicated to the health and safety of our residents and staff in the Kendal at Lexington community,” said Jan Bigelow, Executive Director and CEO of Kendal at Lexington. “Moreover, we know widespread vaccination against COVID-19, both here and beyond, is necessary to preserve life and move forward from this pandemic.”

The vaccine mandate has been in place for all staff since October of 2021. Some religious and health exemptions may apply.

Our commitment to diversity flows from Kendal’s Quaker roots and published Values & Practices. We believe that a spirit of inclusion and a culture of diversity enrich and strengthen our communities, people, and services.

Kendal strives to create and support an environment for community members, board, staff and volunteers that is welcoming to all cultures, backgrounds and differences — an environment that promotes mutual respect, acceptance, cooperation and teamwork.

Welcoming Diversity

Over the past decade, the Kendal System of retirement communities has undertaken a concerted effort to increase diversity among community members, staff, volunteers and board members.

This video highlights some of our diversity and inclusion initiatives.
