Rebecca and Brian Burton are both valued members of the Kendal at Lexington community. Rebecca serves as a dedicated life enrichment coordinator, while Brian holds the position of Director of Dining. Their journey together began in June of 1996 when they were introduced by mutual friends. What started as a casual acquaintance blossomed into a deep and enduring friendship, eventually leading to romance.
Their first official date was a memorable outing to a baseball game, setting the stage for many more adventures to come. In September of 1997, they exchanged vows at the San Diego Temple Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, marking the beginning of a lifelong partnership filled with love and shared experiences.
Among their cherished memories are the exhilarating helicopter ride they took over a volcano during their honeymoon in Hawaii, and the unforgettable cruise they embarked on to Europe, visiting enchanting destinations such as Italy and Spain to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary.
Their wedding dance to Céline Dion’s “Because You Loved Me” symbolized the depth of their commitment and affection for each other. Together, they are proud parents to two wonderful children, including their son Auston, who also works at Kendal at Lexington.
Reflecting on their journey, Rebecca and Brian offer valuable marriage advice: “When you put in the effort, it makes you both better. It’s not easy, but it’s definitely worth it.” Their dedication to each other and their family is evident in every aspect of their lives.
Brian’s decision to work at Kendal was driven by his desire to be more present with his family after years of traveling for work. He finds fulfillment in his role here, which allows him to prioritize quality time with his loved ones. Similarly, Rebecca was drawn to Kendal by its values and saw it as an opportunity to deepen her understanding of the organization while making a meaningful contribution. Together, Rebecca and Brian exemplify the spirit of dedication, love, and shared values that define the Kendal at Lexington community.
