Kendal at Lexington has been awarded CARF reaccreditation following a rigorous evaluation process spanning from December 11-13, 2023. CARF, or the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, conducts evaluations every five years to assess communities like Kendal at Lexington, focusing on quality, safety, and adherence to industry standards.

Jan Bigelow, CEO of Kendal at Lexington, expressed pride in the achievement, stating, “CARF accreditation serves as a cornerstone of quality and excellence for Kendal at Lexington, instilling trust in residents and families while bolstering credibility in the market. Moreover, it fosters a culture of continuous improvement, promoting professional development among staff and encouraging collaboration within the community.”

The reaccreditation process began in early 2023 with an extensive self-assessment, where Kendal at Lexington meticulously reviewed policies, procedures, and practices to identify areas of strength and potential enhancement. With CARF’s standards in mind – 1600 in total – the community diligently worked to meet and exceed expectations prior to the survey team’s arrival.

During the three-day assessment, a team of industry professionals from CARF conducted a comprehensive evaluation of Kendal at Lexington’s facilities and operations. Their findings, which encompassed areas of compliance and suggestions for improvement, were compiled into a detailed report.

“The journey toward CARF accreditation has been extensive, but it has been immensely rewarding,” concluded Bigelow. “I extend my heartfelt thanks to all residents and staff who collaborated with us throughout this process. Your unwavering support and partnership are invaluable as we strive for excellence at Kendal at Lexington.”
