COVID-19 Testing Update- 10/1/20

As the spread of COVID-19 grows in our region, Kendal at Lexington continues to take all steps necessary to prevent the spread of COVID-19 on our campus. Following the indication of two positive COVID-19 results for two staff members on September 27, contact tracing was immediately conducted. In addition to those identified through contract tracing, all residents of the Borden Center were tested on Monday, September 28.

All residents tested on September 28 were negative for COVID-19.  Two additional staff members indicated a positive result. Those staff members are quarantining at home and further contact tracing is in process. We are keeping in touch with these staff members to offer support, check in on their well-being and monitor symptoms.

We are following Virginia Department of Health and CMS guidelines and on Monday, October 5 we are retesting all staff that access the Borden Center.  In addition, we are offering testing to all staff that day as well.

Kendal at Lexington continues to practice rigorous COVID-19 precautionary protocols such as wearing masks, strict infection control practices, limiting access to the community and social distancing.

We are a community overflowing with caring and thoughtful people.  Kendal at Lexington staff, residents and board are working together to get through this pandemic. We appreciate everyone’s continued vigilance.
