During July and August, tours of the partially completed Borden addition gave residents, staff, and community leaders a preview of the improvements in progress.  The new enhancements are a transition to a new, more homelike “person-centered” nursing center.  The “Hard Hat Tour”  (of the first of three “neighborhoods”) illustrated the progress, and the significant increase in well-lit and spacious living areas.  When the project is completed, two common residence areas (living room, dining areas and country kitchen, etc.) will have significantly more space, including private meeting areas for visiting families, nooks for more private dining or for a quiet place for a snack or reading and relaxing by the large windows.  These photos reflect the move to more airy and welcoming spaces.  The third common area will be for recovery care, with expanded dining and community space, making it more like a hotel.
