October 15, 2019 —Kendal at Lexington was delighted to host a Harvest Meal in the Kendal Dining Room on Thursday, October 30, 2014. Kendal residents and staff joined together to share a meal in support of diversity and local farmers and businesses. Head Chef Mark Chittum, Director of Dining Dennis Fowler and the dining staff outdid themselves with a delicious locally provided meal.
“Kendal at Lexington is committed to a culture that is all inclusive and enriches the community where we live and work. Kendal encourages and respects individuality and incorporates all views in our business planning”, states Margaret Hager, Director of Human Resources and Chair of the Diversity Committee. Kendal frequently offers educational programs which provide opportunities for residents and staff to increase their awareness of other people and cultures. Margaret notes, “Harvest Day provided insight into traditional Rockbridge County harvest celebration practices while we enjoyed many wonderful foods provided by local farmers and businesses”.
Kendal welcomed special guest, Angela Jackson, a Rockbridge County native who volunteers with Doors Ministries in Uganda.
