September 3, 2024 —Tracy Wallace was drawn to Kendal at Lexington by the chance to engage directly with patients, shifting away from a twelve-year stint at Amedisys Home Health Care where she served as Director of Operations.
The offer for the Director of Nursing position was a turning point for Tracy, steering her towards her true passion for patient care rather than administrative tasks. Though she had encountered Kendal before in a previous interview, it wasn’t until recently that Tracy joined the team, starting her journey on March 11.
Her desire to help others was sparked by caring for her grandfather during his battle with lung cancer. Tracy’s nursing journey began with an associate’s degree from Dabney S. Lancaster Community College, followed by a BSN from Jefferson College of Health Sciences. Now, as the Director of Nursing, Tracy finds fulfillment in meeting residents and their families.
In her role, Tracy ensures the highest standards of care for residents across Borden, Webster, and Independent Living. Beyond work, Tracy’s life revolves around her family, including her husband Kevin, whom she met at a pig roast party, and their four children. From sports activities to family bowling nights, Tracy treasures every moment spent with her loved ones, including monthly shopping trips with her daughter and celebrating her son’s achievements, like teaching at Rockbridge Christian Academy.
