Kendal at Lexington is now offering a Professional Growth Opportunity for Aspiring Certified Nursing Assistants.

Kendal at Lexington announces an initiative to hire and educate potential certified nursing assistants. , Kendal at Lexington has opened an application window to hire individuals as nursing assistants to train and educate for the permanent full-time position of Certified Nursing Assistant.  Our plan is to hire eight individuals who will be sent to CNA certification training at Fastrac Health Care in Roanoke or Charlottesville for formal education and certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant.

To be considered for this opportunity, each applicant must complete the Kendal application form and a statement outlining their interest in being selected for this program.  Each applicant must also submit two references utilizing the Kendal reference form. These should be two professional references who have a direct knowledge of their desire/competencies to perform in the position of Certified Nursing Assistant.

After review of all applications by the selection committee, applicants who have been chosen to move forward will be called for an interview with the committee.  Those successful applicants who have a successful interview will be required to pass a to a Background Investigation through the Virginia State Police.

. Selectees will be required to apply with Fastrac and be accepted into their program.  Selectees will be required to complete all requirements as deemed necessary by Fastrac.

This CNA training program will run for approximately three weeks. Upon successful completion of the Fastrac program, participating individuals will receive certification and will be eligible to test for a CNA license with the State of Virginia.  Full funding for this training program will be provided by Kendal at Lexington.  Registration for individual testing with the Virginia Board of Nursing will be conducted by Kendal at Lexington in conjunction with the individual program participant.  Selectees currently employed by Kendal may continue to work on a part time basis with Kendal at Lexington while attending Fastrac should there be a need to do so.

Upon completion of the Fastrac formal training program, selectees will return to Kendal at Lexington to work as nursing assistants while waiting to take and pass their final exam. Every effort will be made to schedule and complete the exam. Upon successful completion of the exam, selectees will be advanced to the position of Certified Nursing Assistant and placed in a permanent full-time position at Kendal at Lexington.

All selectees will be required to enter into a formal agreement with Kendal at Lexington demonstrating their commitment and dedication to completing this program; to their commitment to being compliant with all regulations governing employment at Kendal at Lexington; and to their commitment for continued employment with Kendal at Lexington after successful completion of this program.

If you are currently a licensed Certified Nursing Assistant or have successfully completed certification through a formal training program, you will not be considered for this program.
