We are excited to invite you to Kendal at Lexington this fall for a special series of piano recitals featuring the renowned pianist and retired Washington and Lee professor, Tim Gaylard. In this year’s program, titled “Three American Originals,” Professor Gaylard will focus on American composers for the first time in his long-running Kendal College series.
Each recital will spotlight a different composer who significantly shaped American music by blending classical and popular styles. You’ll enjoy everything from lively ragtime tunes to the grandeur of Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue,” celebrating its centenary this year.
