Kendal Hall

For the past year, Kendal at Lexington’s Culture and Entertainment Committee has featured events designed to help residents and the greater Lexington/Rockbridge community embrace the power of history, story and connection.

The final event in the year-long theme, dubbed “Celebrate YOUR Story: Exploring the History and Stories That Shape Us,” will trace the history of The News-Gazette. Publisher Matt Paxton IV will give a talk on the paper’s origin story, beginning with his great-grandfather as editor in 1887 and following four generations of his family. Paxton will also discuss the changing landscape of print journalism and highlight major local stories published over the years.

The talk will be held on Thursday, December 5 at 3:00 p.m. in Kendal Hall on the Kendal at Lexington campus. Free and open to the public. Reception to follow.
