October 15, 2019 —Art and creativity are part of the culture here in the Lexington/Rockbridge area! Join us for the 3rd annual Lexington Rockbridge Studio Tour over Mother’s Day weekend, May 10th and 11th from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm. Get a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process of 36 of the area’s premiere artists. Painters, potters, photographers, glass workers, sculptors, wood workers and mixed media artists will welcome visitors to their personal work spaces. Tour participants are encouraged to interact with the artists, ask questions and learn about the artistic techniques.
Kendal at Lexington’s historic farmhouse, Sunnyside House, will be a stop on the 2014 Studio Tour. The lower level of Sunnyside is home to an art studio, wood shop and model train room. Our stop on the tour will feature three Kendal artists: Mark Chittum, Jo McMurtry and John Winfrey. We’ll open Sunnyside House’s studio area to the public and our artists’ work will be on display.
This event is FREE and artists will be selling their pieces at all 13 stops on the tour. This is the perfect opportunity to visit beautiful Lexington, VA in the springtime and be inspired by the area’s talented artists. Plus, art makes an ideal Mother’s Day gift!
